1. Hurray for a successful auction!
Thanks to everyone who came to the Silent Auction last night. A great time was had by all and we raised a lot of money to benefit the school – we’ll try to pass on the final tally in next week’s bulletin. Thanks especially to Auction co-chairs Nazy Attarzadeh and Alicia Thesing for coordinating the whole event – and to the many, many people who helped them make it such a success.
2. PTA Meeting – 11/10, 7:00 PM
Please note that this a Monday, rather than the usual Tuesday. Agenda includes Silent Auction update and budget review. In the library.
3. Veterans Day – 11/11
No school!
4. After school chess is back! – 11/12, 1:30 PM
Chess classes have begun again on Wednesdays at 1:30 PM in the library. If you are interested there are flyers in the office, check www.yesforchess.com or call (510)921-2081.
5. Make-up school photographs – 11/13
Anyone who would like to have their child’s picture retaken need only return their package (but keep your class picture) and ask for a new picture to be taken. If your child was absent, Bella has new forms in the office.
6. We need your old legos!
Wondering what to do with all those Legos your kids don’t play with anymore? Donate them to Escondido’s new “Lego Magic” Club, which will debut during the Monday lunch recess very soon. Simply drop them off at the office. Hordes of young brickmasters will thank you!

Room A, 25 Churchill

8. Help needed with District Staff Appreciation – 11/12
All PTA members are invited to help with the Staff Appreciation Brunch for district employees on Wed. Nov. 12, sponsored by the PTA Council. Every school PTA feeds its teachers and other staff on a regular basis. This brunch is an opportunity to show appreciation to the approximately 150 other people who do not spend their time at any one school, but work just as hard for the kids as traveling teachers that teach art, music and PE, the bus drivers, gardeners, and maintenance people who go from school to school, and the administrative and support staff at 25 Churchill.
Spots are open for set-up, bringing food, and clean-up.
To sign up to help: Edita Donnelly, editadonnelly@hotmail.com
